Hey there, I'm Alyssa...
and I'd absolutely love to send you a free print from my SILVER LININGS collection!
What’s one of our first reactions when we look at a cactus?
‘Ouch, that would hurt me.’
They have huge thorns and countless tiny, irritating spines.
Yet, you’d never know how something with such blatantly rough edges (literally) would reveal such grace under the right conditions!
I'd been photographing cacti for months after I moved to the Arizona desert, but I wasn't acquainted with the paradox of these plants right away.
As spring rolled around in the desert, I was curious to see what might be blooming in the midst of such dusty, brown wilderness.
With much delight, my camera and I discovered that several types of cacti bloom—and with such gorgeous flowers at that!
I couldn't get enough!
I decided to research the prickly pear cactus (one of the cactus types with the greatest variety of species), and I learned even more surprising things...
Did you know that prickly pear cacti have many amazing benefits?
Not only are they attractive (especially when they finally bloom!), but they provide protection for wildlife, and they’re both edible and highly nutritious (to humans and animals alike)!
In fact, they're a delicacy to the desert creatures (despite their natural 'barbed wire')!
Those animals aren't afraid to brave the thorns to get the prized flesh (and I imagine they appreciate it all the more for the difficulty required to obtain it!).
Cactus blooms are a visual representation of the hidden beauty that even the prickliest of cacti have to offer.
Thus, I was inspired to create a collection of prickly pear cactus photos..
The photos from this collection are named to represent one's flow through a silver linings experience.
Let me tell you what each one symbolizes:
'CHASTEN'
Sometimes a rebuke or misfortune is necessary to restrain or moderate us in life.
Perhaps you'll be given a 'thorn in the flesh' (a spiritual / physical / emotional ailment or experience) to keep you humble or protect you from a greater tragedy.
'BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE'
The chastening might feel painful and difficult, but it ends up working for your highest good.
A 'small' injury or difficulty may allow serious underlying issues to be discovered, otherwise impossible opportunities to open up, or important relationships to be formed or healed.
'ETHEREAL'
Having gone through adversity, you might even end up experiencing something almost heavenly or spiritual.
Maybe a close-call brings you a new way of thinking or a higher level of empathy towards others in their own difficult situations.
'CAPTIVATE'
You may never have noticed or been attracted to the subtle good if you hadn’t hit the bottom and started looking up.
Many people don't recognize their need for help or relationship (with other people or God) until they find they're in a bad enough place.
The Silver Linings Collection
The 'Silver Linings' Collection
The people that long lived off the land in the desert southwest could’ve easily looked at their harsh conditions as a misfortune...
They could've looked at the prickly pear cacti that sustained them as complicated or boring (compared to the peaches others enjoyed)...
Yet, they actually believed that they were dealt the good hand when it came to food!
They saw the silver linings in life, and I hope my collection will remind you to do the same!
So, what's with the free prints?
I want to encourage people to see the blessings hidden in the rough things in life by reintroducing the beautiful paradox of nature into as many homes as possible!
And (let's be real)...I'm also the owner of a fairly new nature photography business, so I'm working hard to get my photos out in front of as many people as possible!
That's why I’m offering you one of my Professional Nature Photographs for FREE!
All I request is that you cover the small shipping and handling charge to make sure it arrives to you in good time and condition.
I hope you'll love my gift and that this can be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Oh… I can't forget to mention my amazing satisfaction guarantee!
I guarantee you'll love the free print you choose or
I'll refund you the shipping and handling you paid...
AND you can keep (or gift) the print!
Simply contact me with the receipt details and I'll refund you (though I’m grateful to share that it’s never happened yet!).
But wait...there's more!
If you take me up on this offer, you will also get...

About Alyssa
Nature is Alyssa Quiñones' studio, and she calls the Arizona desert home.
Attracted to photography, nature, and travel from a young age, she spent the bulk of her free time outside in the trees, dirt, and water.
She studied photography in high school, including traditional darkroom techniques and digital photography. Over the last few years, she got further training in shooting and editing from courses led by highly successful photographers.
After she earned a Bachelor's in Chemistry, she decided to make her true passion her full-time career. Her adoration for nature ultimately determined the focus of her photography.
